Hi All, Thanks to all the instructors for their contributions and all students and club members who attended the Twinset Diver SDC at the weekend. I’m sure you all agree it was a very thought provoking and worth while course! Unfortunately we ran a little short on time towards the end and didn’t have as much time on planning and kit preparation as we would have liked, therefore we will be recapping on those two elements at 1.30pm at the clubhouse on Saturday the 21st February followed by the pool session. We will decide the date of the open water modules after the pool assessment, as I say kit configuration will occur prior to the pool session but to help on time can you please make sure … 1- your kit is configured so you can reach all isolators. 2- Hoses are out of the way and streamlined. 3- you have at least 1 long DV hose. Andy H will be at the pool this Saturday for anyone wanting to practice before hand. Remember this Saturday is the AGM it would be great to see as many club members as we can after the pool session! Please note that the following Saturday (14th) the clubhouse is closed so after pool social will be in the Travs. Kind regards Steve Cheesmond Diving Officer BSAC Mansfield 735
Hi Gang, Please see the message below from Andy J regarding air fills. 1. Airfills in preparation for weekend Friday 7pm. If anyone thinks they are likely to need top up after pool session, please let me know too. 2. If anyone not twin set diving Sunday still wants to dive, sharon is looking for a buddy. Again, please let us know. See you soon Bleaky.
Hi Gang, We will be meeting at the Travellers Rest on Saturday after the pool session as the sailing clubhouse is closed. See you soon Bleaky
We are having a Christmas party on Saturday 20th December at sailing club after the pool session.
The theme will be Circus, don’t all come as clowns. We will be doing a circus style buffet, themed games, suggestions and volunteers are required.
The cost will be £5:00 per person, bargain. Please invite friends and family, as always should be a fantastic night.
Apologies regarding the previous message I sent out. The pool session is still on but their will be no training (instructors being away should have given me a clue ) however normal service resumes after the aforementioned club trips.
Just a reminder there will be no pool session on Saturday the 16th of August as all instructors are away on club trips. Normal service will resume Saturday the 23rd of August. Have a fantastic trip, safe diving Guys n Gals.
See you soon,
Don’t forget this Saturday/Sunday is the first of the two Buoyancy & Trim Courses. The Theory will start at 2pm Saturday and should be completed in a couple of hours (in time for the pool session). The second course is Thursday night 15th (theory) Sunday 18th (practical) If you wish to attend the theory this Saturday and the practical on the 18th that’s fine if you let me know. Also if you are not doing the course or have already done it you are more than welcome to sit in on the theory or give us a hand at Stoney on Sunday. Any questions I’ll be at the clubhouse tonight, cheers.

Just to let you all know that unfortunately this Saturdays pool session has had to be cancelled due to a double booking at the Lammas
A few dates for the diary.
As there is no pool session this saturday Andy G has suggested that instead it would be good if we had a good turnout for a club day out to Stoney Cove. Following this we will be holding an oxygen administration training course this Saturday at the sailing club at 16:00. This is open to all members. A refesher for those who have done it before and a taster for those who have not. Oxygen administration is an essential part of diver rescue which needs to be practiced as much as any skill. If you are interested in any of the above would you please let Andy G know for Stoney, Andy H for the oxygen administration.
And finally The sailing club are having a quiz night on Wednesday the 26th March at 20:00 including free buffet . It would be good to join them, to interact etc etc, so for that week we will be having our social gathering at the sailing club on the Wednesday night and not Thursday.
See you soon
Unfortunately next weekends pool session has had to be cancelled due to the Lammas hosting a swimathon, but don’t be to disappointed you can still come along to the sailing club as normal for a sociable drink or two.
See you soon
